Iranian actor Mosaffa denies receiving court summons
TEHRAN, May 24 (MNA) -- Iranian actor Ali Mosaffa has denied the reports that he and his actress wife Leila Hatami have received a summons to appear in court.
“Neither I nor Leila have been summoned to court,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said that he had only recently accompanied one of his relatives, who was summoned to court as a witness in a legal case.
The semi-official Fars News Agency reported on Saturday that Mosaffa and Hatami and her mother Zahra Khoshkam were summoned to Tehran’s Appeals Court 38 to face charges of fraud.
“Neither Leila nor I have been summoned to the Appeals Court 38 and no one has sued us for fraud,” Mosaffa noted.
Mosaffa said that he and his wife have frequently been the target of Iran’s yellow press and this is nothing new for them.
“Now we have become food for ‘orange’ websites,” he said, satirizing the color of the Fars website.
