Iran’s spiritual power has awakened nations: Leader

TEHRAN, May 25 (MNA) -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the Iranian nation’s spiritual power has awakened other nations.

The Leader made the remarks at the graduation ceremony of the Imam Hossein (AS) Military Academy on Monday, May 24, which was the 28th anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.

“The resistance and spiritual power of the Iranian nation, especially the diligent and faithful youth, have awakened other nations and have revived their hopes,” the Supreme Leader said.

Today, Iran’s enemies are greatly disappointed in their confrontation with Iran, he stated.

Ayatollah Khamenei also commemorated the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr, saying the third of Khordad (May 24) is an unforgettable day in the Iranian history.

The main factors which gave rise to that great and instructive victory were trust in God and reliance on indigenous forces, he added.

“The recapture of Khorramshahr was a severe blow to the global arrogance, which backed Saddam’s war machine,” he noted.

Today, the same powers that supported Saddam Hussein are taking actions against the Iranian nation, but they cannot defeat Iran due to the Iranian nation’s faithfulness, determination, and devotion, the Leader stated.

The enemies of the Iranian nation are attempting to distort the truth about Iran with their propaganda machine while they themselves are actually the ones behind most of the insecurity and criminal actions in the world, he added.

At the end of the ceremony, the Supreme Leader attended a military parade.
