Iran's unemployment rate reaches 11.9%
TEHRAN, May 25 (MNA) – Statistical Center of Iran (SCI) announced that unemployment rate in the Iranian calendar year of 1388 (ended March 20, 2010) was 1.5 percent more than the year before and hit 11.9 percent.
According to SCI, 38.9 percent of population aged over 10 was economically active in 1388.
The report tells the divergence in economic cooperation shows that this quotient had 0.9 percent increase year on year.
A review of employment in major economic sectors says that in 1388 the service sector had the highest rate of workforce with 47.4 percent.
The industrial sector with 31.8 percent and agriculture with 20.8 percent stood in lower places, respectively.
