Larijani retains post of Iran’s Majlis speaker
TEHRAN, May 26 (MNA) – Ali Larijani, the uncontested candidate for the post of speaker, remained in his post for the third times with 214 votes in favor and 44 abstentions.
Holding a vote to elect the two deputy speakers and members of the presiding board is also on the agenda of Majlis for today.
Mohammad Hassan Abutorabifard, the incumbent second deputy speaker, and Shahabeddin Sadr, an MP sitting on the health committee, and MP Masoud Pezeshkian, the former health minister, are the candidates for the post of deputy speakers.
