Tehran court ordered search of Azad University’s office
TEHRAN, May 29 (MNA) – Tehran court announced that it had issued the search warrant to examine the office of the board of trustees and founders of the Islamic Azad University.
According to the Tehran court’s statement, in the inspections from one of the main headquarters of the Islamic Azad University, which was carried out under the supervision of the prosecutor’s representative, a number of documents about gas and oil deals, government’s confidential documents, reports related to a post-election incidents’ defendants and some other financial documents unrelated to the activities of the Islamic Azad University have been found and impounded.
The statement also says that at the time the inspection was being carried out some individuals attempted to take the documents away from the office, but security forces stopped them.
The examination of the discovered documents is ongoing, the statement added.
Earlier, the office of the board of trustees of the Islamic Azad University had announced that a number of plain-clothes forces had illegally entered this office and the office of the Center of Advanced Science and Technology thirty minutes past midnight on Thursday.
According to the announcement, the attackers entered the building without permission and temporarily detained the building’s security personnel and then started vandalizing and rummaging the building and took some documents and computer cases with themselves.
