Penitent detainees will be pardoned: Tehran prosecutor
TEHRAN, May 31 (MNA) – Tehran General Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Doulatabadi announced on Monday certain post-election detainees will be granted a pardon.
Those repentant people, who are convicted of committing security offences during the post-election unrest last year and have asked for forgiveness, will be given clemency after their cases are reviewed, Doulatabadi told ISNA news agency.
He also said the type of their convictions and their conduct will be considered in pardoning.
The Judiciary will send a list of people, who have been chosen to be granted a pardon, to the Supreme leader in the future.
