APA troika meeting to open in Tehran today

TEHRAN, June 1 (MNA) — The APA troika meeting will open Tuesday in Tehran.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani will host the meeting which will be attended by the parliament speakers of Syria, Indonesia as well as the deputy speaker of the National Council of Palestine.

Troika includes parliament speakers of Iran, Indonesia, and Syria, as the former, current, and future presidents of the APA.

The meeting comes as Israeli naval commandos stormed a flotilla of ships carrying aid and hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists to the blockaded Gaza Strip on Monday, killing at least 18 passengers in a predawn raid that set off worldwide condemnation. The attack came as a shock to the world.

The main mandate of the troika is to help a resolution of regional conflicts, promote international peace and security by raising public awareness.
