Moscow betrayed Iran for a pittance: Iranian MP
TEHRAN, June 12 (MNA) -- MP Parviz Sorouri has said that Moscow betrayed its long-term interests for a pittance by voting in favor of fresh round of sanctions against Iran.
Iran expected China and Russia to use their veto power to block the anti-Iran resolution, Sorouri, a member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, told the Mehr News Agency.
The Resolution was the “last nail in the coffin” of the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency, he said.
The adoption of the resolution would further reinforce national unity as the Iranian nation has recognized that the U.S. and its allies want to infringe on “our legitimate rights to attain nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.”
