TEHRAN, June 12 (MNA) -- Copies of 25 historical maps of the Persian Gulf have been put on display in an exhibition at Iran’s pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010.
The copies have been collected by the Geographical Studies Center of the Iranian Defense Ministry, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Wednesday.
The exhibition shows a number of reliable historical documents rejecting the false name of Arabian Gulf for the region.

A collection of 152 Persian paintings and calligraphy, and a selection of posters focusing on the environment and mankind are showcased at the expo.
Land art performances, video art projects, visual art workshops, and a number of Iranian traditional theatrical and music performances have also been arranged for the event program, which will be running until October 31.
