Supreme Leader pardons 708 convicts
TEHRAN, June 29 (MNA) – In a decree issued on Monday Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei gave amnesty to certain prisoners and reducing the sentences of some others.
In a letter to the Supreme Leader, Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani had made a proposal to give amnesty to 708 convicts on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shiite Imam.
These people were convicted in the Islamic Revolutionary court and other courts.
