Slovakian festival honors Iran’s “Last Supper”
TEHRAN, June 29 (MNA) -- Ahmad Soleimanifar’s “The Last Supper” won the Audience Award at the Istropolitana Project, which was held in Bratislava, Slovakia from June 18 to 23.
The play was the representative of Iran’s Arak Islamic Azad University at the event, which is also known as the International Festival of Theatre Schools.
Written by Mohammadreza Kuhestani, the anti-war play communicates with the audience not with dialogue but “through modern theatrical practice” as it is mentioned on the festival’s website.
Majid Amiri, Mahdi Nikravesh, Seyyed Hamid Lajevardi, Mohammad-Javad Piruzi and Mashallah Kuhestani are among the casts of the play.
The Istropolitana Project presents the best creative work by students of dramatic arts. The competitive biennial also holds workshops and educational sessions on the sidelines of the event.
The festival aims to host a creative meeting of the younger generation of theater artists from national and international schools and to present various approaches towards theatrical staging and interpretation.
