All cultures are opposed to WMDs: Iran's Rafsanjani
TEHRAN, June 30 (MNA) - Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has said that opposition to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction has penetrated into all cultures and today there is no country that does not advocate the total eradication of WMDs.
The inhuman use of chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, which are also called mass killing weapons, has compelled all nations to categorically support the calls to eradicate such weapons, Rafsanjani said in Tehran on Monday.
The EC chairman, who made the remarks on Iran’s national day for the campaign against chemical and biological weapons, added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has never allowed itself to overstep the limits of humanity,” and Iran’s officials and people are only seeking the peaceful use of chemical and nuclear materials.
The hegemonistic powers’ allegation that Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities have been diverted is based on these countries’ fear of Iran’s rising influence in the world, and thus they justify every lie about Iran’s nuclear program, he added.
