Strike at Japanese factory in China ends
TOKYO, July 3 Kyodo -
Workers at the Japanese electronics factory of Tianjin Mitsumi Electric Co. in
China's northeastern city of Tianjin began preparing to resume operations at
the factory on Saturday after a four-day strike, the Japanese company said.
The management and workers have reached an agreement over wages and benefits,
Tokyo-based Mitsumi Electric Co. said.
The factory with more than 3,300 employees is owned by Tianjin Mitsumi
Electric, a wholly owned unit of the Japanese company.
All operations at the plant, one of two it operates in Tianjin to manufacture
electronic parts for devices, had been halted as a result of the strike that
began Tuesday.
