Iran's Rafsanjani blasts Obama’s anti-Iran moves
TEHRAN, July 4 (MNA) – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani reacted strongly against President Obama for signing into law far-reaching new sanctions on Iran.
The fact that the U.S. president officially announced that “we are striking at the heart of” Iran’s nuclear program with a support of Europeans, is “a bullying measure against Iran,” Rafsanjani said on Saturday.
“With these sanctions -- along with others -- we are striking at the heart of the Iranian government’s ability to fund and develop its nuclear programs,” Obama said at the signing of the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act at the White House on Thursday.
Rafsanjani also said that the hegemonic powers are pressuring regional countries to take side against Iran, predicting that they will not succeed in achieving their goal.
