“Heritage of Hemingway” to find way into Iranian book market
TEHRAN, July 4 (MNA) -- “Heritage of Hemingway”,which is comprised of two novels by Ernest Hemingway, will soon hit the Iranian book market.
Translated into Persian by Asadollah Amraii, the book contains the two famous novels “Across the River and Into the Trees” and “The Sun Also Rises”.
The collection will be soon submitted to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to obtain permission for publishing, Amraii told the Persian service of MNA, adding that Ofoq Publication is due to publish the book.
“Across the River and into the Trees” is the story of Richard Cantwell, a war-ravaged American colonel stationed in Italy at the close of the Second World War, and his love for a young Italian countess.
“The Sun Also Rises” centers on a group of expatriate American citizens and British subjects in continental Europe during the 1920s.
Ernest Miller Hemingway (1899-1961) was an American writer and journalist. His distinctive writing style, characterized by economy and understatement, influenced 20th-century fiction, as did his life of adventure and public image.
He produced most of his works between the mid-1920s and the mid-1950s, and his career peaked in 1954 when he won the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Translations of “Autumn of the Patriarch” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and “Blindness” by Portuguese author José Saramago are among other works by Amraii.
