Lebanon’s Hezbollah chief condoles Leader over Fadlallah’s death

TEHRAN, July 5 (MNA) - Seyyed Hassan Nasrollah, the Lebanese Hezbollah secretary general, sent a message to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condoling him over the demise of Lebanon’s Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah.

The Hezbollah chief described Fadlallah as the symbol of “resistance against the Zionist regime of Israel”.

Fadlallah, 75, died on Sunday after a long illness.

Fadlallah died in Beirut after suffering “serious internal bleeding,” the state-run National News Agency reported.

Fadlallah, who was born in 1935, had advocated armed resistance by Hezbollah to Israel’s 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon.
