Large industrial projects come on stream in Iran
TEHRAN, July 20 (MNA) -- Two large industrial projects were inaugurated on Monday in Qazvin Province, northwest of Iran.
The development plan of a detergent raw materials producing company, which is run by the private sector, came on stream at the cost of 311 billion rials (some $30 million) plus 5 million euros.
The project has created 380 direct jobs.
A tile and ceramic production plant was also inaugurated costing 900 billion rials plus 50 million euros through the private sector investment. The project has created 400 direct jobs.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Industries and Mines Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian attended the inaugural ceremonies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mehrabian said that Iran has exported 200 million dollars worth of tiles and ceramic products in the past five years and is now the seventh largest exporter in the world.
