Iran-Turkmenistan ties should set example: President Ahmadinejad
TEHRAN, July 26 (MNA) – In a meeting with Turkmen Foreign Minister here on Saturday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad emphasized that Iran-Turkmenistan relations should set an example for the regional countries.
Both countries enjoy great potential to expand the relations, which should be exploited, particularly in the fields of energy, transportation, trade, investment, and international cooperation, Ahmadinejad told Rasit Meredow.
The Turkmen FM, for his part, stated that his country fully supports Iran’s stance in all fields and in the international community.
Meredow went on to say that execution of the infrastructure projects between the two countries can serve as the basis for the development of ties in all respects.
Earlier, the Turkmen diplomat met with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki.
