Iran plans to import diesel oil
TEHRAN, July 26 (MNA) -- The Iranian deputy oil minister said that the country will soon start importing diesel oil.
“We need $46 billion to finish our refinery projects,” the Mehr News Agency quoted Alireza Zeighami as saying on Sunday.
He pointed out that when the projects are completed Iran will be able to refine 3.3 million barrels of oil daily.
“We are now building 5 billion liters new capacity to store liquid fuel in the country,” he stated.
The official said that soon 3 to 4 million liters of diesel oil will be imported into the country to increase the fuel reserves in our power plants, however he added, “Currently, there is no problem in supplying the diesel oil needed in the country from domestic refineries.”
