Economic cohesion a priority for Iran: cleric
TEHRAN, July 31 (MNA) – This week’s Tehran Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani has stressed the need for “economic cohesion” of the country.
In response to the sanctions adopted by the United Nations Security Council, the United States, and the European Union against Iran, Ayatollah Kashani stated that maintaining the national economic cohesion is a priority for Iran.
Cultural and political cohesion is also important in its own right, but in light of recent sanctions, economic cohesion should be placed higher on the agenda, he added.
Iran’s wealth should be invested inside the country to jumpstart the national economy, he noted.
He also called on people who have deposited their money in foreign banks to return their funds to Iran.
Ayatollah Kashani pointed out that the West’s actions have only led to instability in the region and the world, and advised the Western powers not to tarnish their reputations any further.
