Iranian females outperform males in university entrance exams
TEHRAN, Aug. 2 (MNA) -- The list of the students with the highest scores in this year’s Iranian university entrance exams shows females outperformed males.
The results of the entrance exams was announced today, but the names of the students with the highest scores had been announced yesterday by the National Organization of Educational Testing.
Of the 36 with the highest scores, 19 are females and 17 are males. Most of them are from Tehran.
1,286,813 students took this year’s university entrance exam, 773,653 of whom (about 60%) were females and 513,160 were males.
The university entrance exam, known as the konkour, is a standardized test used as one of the means to gain admission to higher education in Iran.
