Russian Landa appointed as Iran chess coach

TEHRAN, Aug. 4 (MNA) -- Russian Grandmaster Konstantin Landa was chosen as Iran chess coach on Tuesday.

Landa will take charge of Iranian chess players in the upcoming World Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk as well as the 2010 Asian Games.

The 38-year-old Germany-based GM was previously Iran’s coach in the 2009 Asian Indoor Games in Vietnam. Iran finished in third place in the tournament’s Thunder Chess under Landa’s supervision.
