Ahmadinejad warns Arab states not to abandon Palestine
HAMEDAN, Aug. 6 (MNA) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned certain Arab states not to abandon the Palestinian nation.
“A wise person will not be bitten twice from the same (snake) hole. Why are you rushing to sell out the Palestinian nation to the occupiers? The Zionist regime is mired in crisis and it is being destroyed,” Ahmadinejad said in the western city of Hamedan on Wednesday.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the president stated that Iran is ready to enter into talks with Western countries over its nuclear program. However, he again emphasized Iran’s stance that it is only willing to conduct negotiations which are based on justice and mutual respect.
Ahmadinejad dismissed the West’s “stick policy” toward Iran’s nuclear energy program and warned the Western powers that there would be serious consequences if they continue pursuing this policy.
He said that the West is not really interested in conducting meaningful talks with Tehran and added that they only seek to impose their will on the Islamic Republic.
He went on to say that the Western powers have begun a psychological warfare campaign against Iran.
On the one hand, they impose sanctions on the country and launch a propaganda campaign against the Islamic Republic, and on the other hand, they say they are ready to talk, the president added.
On U.S. President Barack Obama’s promise of change, Ahmadinejad said, “The real change will occur when the United States withdraws all its troops from the region.”
