Egyptian Quran reciters coming to Iran

TEHRAN, Aug. 15 (MNA) -- Iran’s Foreign Ministry has invited several Egyptian Quran reciters to recite the Quran at numerous gatherings during the month of Ramadan.

Abdul Fattah Taruti, Ahmed Naina, and Shaban al-Dairi are the three internationally known reciters who are due to attend 20 gatherings in 20 Imamzadehs in the capital Tehran, cultural deputy director of Iran’s State Endowment and Charity Affairs Organization Hojjatoleslam Ahmad Sharafkhani said.

Imamzadeh is a Persian word that refers to an immediate descendant of a Shia Imam and the place where the descendent is buried.

This is while the Ministry of Awqaf of Egypt had earlier denied the news, announcing that they had received no official invitation from Iran.

Iran’s embassy in Cairo also confirmed that a number of Egyptian Quran reciters have been invited to Iran to recite Quran for Iranians.
