Tehran names four new ambassadors
TEHRAN, Aug. 18 (MNA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry has appointed new ambassadors to foreign countries including Bahrain, Poland, Chile and Slovenia.
Mehdi Agha Jafari is appointed as new ambassador to Bahrain. He had served as caretaker of Iran’s embassy in the United Arab Emirates.
Samad Ali Lakizadeh takes over as the Islamic Republic’s ambassador to Warsaw. Hoshang Abhari also named Tehran’s top diplomat in Chile.
Rahim Aghaiipour is also appointed as Tehran’s first ambassador to Slovenia. Heretofore, Iran’s accredited ambassadors to Austria used to pursue Iran-Slovenia bilateral and consular issues.
Slovenia, a country in Central Europe, is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union.
