Iran, Syria to boost trade up to $2b
TEHRAN, Aug. 18 (MNA) -- The Iranian commerce minister met a Syrian business delegation here and the two sides agreed to increase trade between the two countries up to $2 billion.
The two nations have the necessary infrastructure to boost business from the current $400,000 million up to $2 billion, Mehdi Ghazanfari said.
He said that Tehran and Damascus could ease trade tariffs, implement technical and engineering projects, establish a joint bank and enhance transportation services.
Director of Syrian Prime Minister Bureau Tisser al-Zaabi as well as head of the business delegation to Iran said that his country is in need of many of the products produced in Iran and expressed hope that his country could be a gateway for Iranian goods to be exported to other Arab states.
