Iranian cartoonist picked for jury of Turkish contest
TEHRAN, Aug. 18 (MNA) -- Iranian cartoonist Masud Shojaei is judging at the 5th Don Quichotte International Cartoon Contest along with 9 other members.
The contest is focusing on “Europe-Asia Bridge: Istanbul” this year. The jury for this edition is composed of Turkish and foreign cartoonists who are familiar with Istanbul and its culture.
The 10-member jury of internationally renowned cartoonists is evaluating submitted works until August 30. The results will be published on September 5.
“The purpose of our competition is to study the European Capital of Culture: Istanbul from past to present through the art of caricature and project it to the world audience,” as it is mentioned in the contest’s website.
The website announced that the “first cartoonist to be selected will win a monetary prize as well as a beautiful trip within Istanbul”.
Shojaei was among the jury members of the previous edition of the contest which was on “Integration-Assimilation”.
The award ceremony will take place in Istanbul’s Schneidertempel Art Gallery on September 15.
