Iranian director hires Turkish, Polish actors for his debut film

TEHRAN, Aug. 22 (MNA) -- Six Turkish actors and one Polish thespian are among the members of the cast for “Forbidden Love”, which will be the debut film of the Iranian director Yashar Sarboland.

Helena Poplavsky from Poland and Nurgül Yesilçay, Baki Davrak, Mazlum Kral, Tuncel Kurtiz, and two other actors from Turkey will appear in the film, Sarboland told the Persian service of the News Agency on Saturday.

One leading Iranian actor, whose name will remain a secret until the end of the project, has also been selected for a part in this production, he added.

Shooting will begin in Bursa in northwest Turkey in late September, he said.

“I was forced to shoot the movie in Turkey despite my willingness to shoot it in Iran. I made diligent efforts to make it here in my country, but a series of problems blocked the way,” he added.

“It took about 10 years to develop the storyline. The film centers on a highly sensitive social issue and no Iranian producer agreed to collaborate with me. Consequently, Turkish producer Can Ulusoy was selected accompany the team,” he explained.

Young Iranian director Amir Shafiain is collaborating as an advisor, and other crew members are coming from South Korea, France and Lebanon.

Norwegian electronic musician Due Röyksopp will be making the soundtrack.
