Iran's Islamic Coalition Party declines to meet British ambassador

TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (MNA) – The Islamic Coalition Party has rejected a request by British Ambassador Simon Gass for a meeting with party leaders.

In a letter to the Foreign Ministry, Hamid-Reza Taraqi, a member of the party, cited the party’s reasons for not receiving Britain’s ambassador to Tehran.

Regarding the hostile stance of Britain against the Islamic Republic in the post-election incidents, particularly Simon Gass’s recent stance against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the coalition rejected his request for a meeting, the letter reads.

Taraqi also expressed hope that Britain would revise its behavior toward Iran.
