Minister dismisses claim Jundullah’s members have entered Iran

TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (MNA) – Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi has dismissed reports that the remaining members of Jundullah terrorist group have entered Iran.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Moslehi said Iran has not yet arrested all the remaining members of the Rigi group which are still supported by the U.S. and Israel’s intelligence services.

However, the ministry servicemen are seriously hunting down fugitive members of the group, he added.

The Iranian security forces detained Abdolmalek Rigi, the leader of the Jundullah group on February 23 on board a flight from the United Arab Emirates to Kyrgyzstan. The plane landed at Bandar Abbas Airport, where Rigi and his aide were arrested. He was then hanged in June.

Asked if the Senegalese president plans to mediate between Tehran and Washington on the three detained Americans in Iran, Moslehi said since their arrest last year different countries have asked to help Iran to resolve the issue.

However, the investigations of the case should be completed, and then Iran will announce the result, he added.

Shane Bauer, 27, Sarah Shourd, 31, and Josh Fattal, 27, were arrested in July last year on suspicion of spying after they entered Iran.
