Arbitration committee seeks to resolve Iran govt-Majlis disputes
TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (MNA) – An arbitration committee that has been formed in the Guardian Council to settle disputes between the legislative and executive branches of the government has held 10 sessions so far.
Guardian Council spokesman Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei said President Ahmadinejad had asked the Supreme Leader to take necessary measures to remove impediments to the administration’s activities caused by parliamentary ratifications.
“The committee has been formed in the Guardian Council on the orders of Ayatollah Khamenei,” Kadkhodaei told reporters on Saturday.
Kadkhodaei went on to say that the committee includes representatives from the parliament and the administration.
So far the committee has held 10 sessions to study the sources of discord between the two bodies, he added.
Ahmadinejad recently said he does not “consider as law” a parliamentary approval on withdrawing 2 billion dollars from the Foreign Exchange Fund for development of metro in Tehran and other big cities.
