Iranian ports transit up 5.4%
TEHRAN, Aug. 31 (MNA) – Some 56,120,000 tons of goods have been loaded and unloaded in the Iranian ports in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2010).
The amount shows a 5.44 percent increase in comparison to the previous year’s figure of 53,223,000 tons.
Oil exports from Iranian ports went down 16.21 percent in the mentioned period while oil-based products imports decreased 26.02 percent compared to the same period the year before.
According to the Ports and Maritime Organization’s statistics, in the mentioned five-month period Iran’s non-oil goods exports from the ports increased 50.27 percent.
