Kyodo launches redesigned English website+

TOKYO, Sept. 3 Kyodo -
Kyodo News launched a fully redesigned website for its English-language service
Friday as part of efforts to strengthen its multilingual and multimedia
services.
The new site, with a more user-friendly interface and bigger photos plus
slideshow function, offers a wide range of subscription options.
These include membership for access to all stories, membership for selected
news categories and one for archive search services. On the previous site, only
full membership for corporate clients was available.
In the near future, the new site will also offer subscription options to
individual customers.
The Kyodo News English-language service covers developments around the globe 24
hours a day, with a particular focus on Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. It
transmits over 200 news stories daily, on topics ranging from politics and the
economy to crime and accidents, science and sports.
