Iran nuclear chief to attend IAEA conference
TEHRAN, Sept. 14 (MNA) – Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Director Ali Akbar Salehi will travel to Vienna next week to attend the annual summit of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Salehi will deliver a speech at the summit elaborating on Iran’s nuclear policy, AEOI spokesman Ali Shirzadian said in Tehran on Monday.
The 54th Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference is set for September 20-24, 2010 at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna, where the board of governors, the member States, and the director general will discuss a wide range of issues.
At the last general conference of the IAEA, member states expressed concern over the clandestine nature of Israel’s nuclear program.
In an interview with the Asharq Alawsat newspaper on Sunday, U.S. Ambassador to the IAEA Glyn Davies said he was anxious regional countries might condemn Israel again at this year’s summit.
