'Iran seeking to deepen ties with all nations including Europeans'
TEHRAN, Sept. 18 (MNA) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said the main objective of Iranian diplomatic missions abroad is to expand and strengthen ties with all countries including the European nations.
Iran welcomes talks with all countries including the members of the European Union but Tehran is against any domination and intimidation, Ahmadinejad told a gathering of Iranian ambassadors to European countries on Thursday.
He went on to say that the EU’s support for the sanctions resolution on Iran is perverted, adding any sanction on an ‘open economy’ is doomed to fail.
Tehran to draw up Iran-Europe roadmap
Iran plans to draw up a roadmap to ties with the EU, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Thursday.
One important issue in this regard is to monitor relations between the Islamic Republic and Europe, Mottaki told Iran’s ambassadors to European countries.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mottaki said Europe’s passive foreign policy toward Washington have undermined its relations with other nations.
The passivity of Europe is connected with the eight-year sway of Republicans in the U.S., and consequently their wrong policies have undermined the efficacy of EU’s interactions with other countries, he stated.
The world knows what the West has introduced as the correct approach in the international relations was a failure, he added.
