Iran's "Have Not Reached the Tree” to compete in San Francisco filmfest
TEHRAN, Sept. 16 (MNA) -- The documentary “Have Not Reached the Tree” by director Hamideh Sharif-Raad will be shown in the competition section of the third annual Iranian Film Festival, San Francisco, which runs from September 18 to 19.
The 50-minute doc features the journey the director takes to the northern region of Iran to find the trees Abbas Kiarostami filmed in his three films (“Where is the Friend’s House?”, “Life and Nothing Else”, and “Under the Olive Trees”).
On the way, she talks to several actors and crew members of the trilogy and studies the locations and methods of directing Kiarostami uses in his films.
The documentary actually portrays the details and difficulties of Kiarostami’s job, finding locations and actors, and the techniques he employs to direct them.
Arsalan Amiri, Mehdi Hosseini, Emad Khoda-Bakhsh, Mohammad Rasuli, and Kianush Altafi have collaborated with the director in this project.
“We All Must Die”, “Passenger” and “Interview with Kiarostami” are Sharif-Raad’s other docs.
