Iran’s “Banquet under the Water” welcomed by U.S. festival
TEHRAN, Sept. 20 (MNA) -- Iran’s “Banquet under the Water” by Babak Amini won the Bronze Jury Prize at the San Francisco International Festival of Short Films (SF Shorts).
Produced by Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the 15-minute film is a joint project by Iran and France.
It narrates the story of a couple who works at defusing land mines which remained after the war in a camp near the border. They find an antique buried underground in the minefield one day before New Year, something which changes their lives forever.
The festival, which was held from September 8 to 11, screened 80 short films from twenty countries around the world.
