Iran's exports hit $118b in 1st half
ORUMIEH, Sept. 20 (MNA) – The deputy economy minister stated that 26,501 tons of goods worth over $118 billion were exported through Iran’s customs’ offices to countries around the world in the first half of the Iranian calendar year (started March 21).
Ardeshir Mohammadi added that this year’s figures show a 22.45 percent increase in weight and a 23.86 percent increase in value compared to the same period the year before.
He named Iraq, China, UAE, India, and Afghanistan as the main destinations of Iranian products.
“During this period 19.627 million tons of goods worth $242.4 million were imported into the country,” he said.
The director of Iran’s customs administration pointed out that the import of goods had declined 1.77 percent in terms of weight, however it had increased 22.21 percent in its value.
