Iranian director to stage “Story of a Staircase” with French cast in Paris

TEHRAN, Sept. 21 (MNA) -- Iranian stage director Reza Guran will stage his recent play “Story of a Staircase” with French actors in Paris in the summer of 2011.

“We have negotiated with several theaters in Paris including Comédie Saint-Michel for the performances,” Guran who came back from 15-day sojourn in Paris alongside with his assistant Nureddin Heidari-Maher told the Persian service of MNA.

“We are currently reviewing the proposals for our performances and we will select the best for sure. We will not perform the play under adverse conditions,” he added.

He staged “Story of a Staircase” with actors Mehdi Pakdel, Saber Abar, Behnush Tabatabaii, Behnaz Jafari and Amir-Reza Delavari at the Qashqai Hall of Tehran City Theater Complex in winter 2009.

Guran puton a performance of an adaptation of Bertolt Brecht’s play “A Man Is a Man” with Dutch actors in different cities in the Netherlands in 2009.

Previously, he also staged Federico Garcia Lorca’s “Yerma” at the 26th Fajr International Theater Festival in Tehran.
