Iran working for world peace: president

TEHRAN, Sept. 22 (MNA) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
held talks with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou in New York on Monday, ahead of the UN General Assembly session.

Ahmadinejad told Papandreou that Iran is making efforts to help establish lasting peace and security in the world.

Commenting on the Palestine issue, the Iranian president stated that it is time for the U.S. government and certain other Western countries to revise their stances toward Palestine.

Papandreou described Iran’s role in the international arena as “constructive” and “significant”.

The dispute over Iran’s nuclear program must be resolved through diplomatic channels, the Greek prime minister added.
