Two installations and one painting by Tatari will go on display at the biennial to be held from October 8 to November 6 in Dhaka.
“One of my works is an installation inspired by the Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad (s) which is embellished with Quranic verses. Another installation is a black curtain which is a symbol of the Kaaba,” he said.
The Turkmen artist Tatari has held more than 50 exhibitions in different countries including Britain, Switzerland, India, France, Qatar, Armenia and Jordan.
Since 1981, the Bangladesh Asian Art Biennial has a focal point of contemporary works based on designs blending tradition and modernity. The event exhibits paintings, sculptures, graphics, installations, and mixed media from the Asia Pacific region.
