More than 30 rural villages access to improved roads
(KPL) More than 30 rural villages out of 327 villages in Bolikhamsayprovince have been able to access to road network system thanks to the implementation of road renovation project of the province.
This facilitates to communication inter-villages in the province. The construction work compared to the plan reached by 92 per cent. Five roads with the length of 259 km have been repaired access to these villages. There were 32 roads stretches 1,325 km was paved by laterite and 15 bridges have been repaired. The activities of road improvement was disclosed by Mr Visay Phoumy, Secretary of Party Cell of Bolikhamsay Public Works and Transport Office, at the first meeting of Party Cell of Bolikhamsay Public Works and Transport Office held early this month. Bolikhamsay province has so far followed up the Government's direction by focussing on maintenance of national roads, provincial main roads, rural roads and bridges of which 84projects worth 90 billion kip was invested by foreigners.
According to the provincial plan, it will plan to construct and renovate over 150 roads with the length of 1,845 km have been constructed access to villages in the province. Out of total length, of which more than 300 km road will be paved by asphalt, over 700 km road will be paved by lateriteand over 700 km roads will be cleared.
