Iran football federation denies playing Brazil

TEHRAN, Sept. 27 (MNA) -- Iran football federation refuted media reports claiming that Iran will face Brazil in a friendly match in October.

Xinhua reported Saturday that Brazil is going to play against Iran in a warm-up game in the UAE in October.

Although the Brazilian Football Confederation has yet to officially announce its national team’s upcoming component, the news was seemingly leaked that Iran is one of its opponents.

“We have not had any contact with the Brazilian football officials,” he said.

Iran is preparing for the AFC Asian Cup which will be held in Doha, Qatar in January 2011.
