Massive quake hits Iran’s Fars province
TEHRAN, Sept. 27 (MNA) – A severe earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck a remote area in the southern Fars province on Monday at 2:52 p.m. local time.
The quake shook a sparsely populated district of Konar Takhteh, 677 kilometers southwest of the capital, Tehran.
No report has been released about the damages and casualties so far.
The rescue teams have been dispatched to the quake-stricken area.
