Fuel will be loaded into core of Iran's Bushehr reactor soon
TEHRAN, Sept. 28 (MNA) – Ali Akbar Salehi announced on Monday that fuel will be loaded into the core of the Bushehr nuclear reactor over the next few days.
The reactor core must be washed with acid and then must be half filled with water, explained Salehi, the director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said a security resolution was adopted during the recent conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna on September 21.
Salehi, Iran’s former ambassador to IAEA, said Iran’s nuclear disarmament conference was also included in the resolution.
Salehi delivered a speech to the IAEA General Assembly in Vienna in which he said the UN nuclear watchdog is suffering a crisis of “moral authority and credibility.”
He added during his stay in Vienna he succeeded to lay the groundwork for future cooperation between Iran and IAEA.
The nuclear official also said officials at the UN nuclear watchdog vowed to better guard information about the nuclear activities of the member countries.
