Iran, Bolivia call for expansion of ties
TEHRAN, Sept. 29 (MNA) – The Iranian minister of industry and mines called for the expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and Bolivia.
Iran will establish a production line for tractors as well as dairy and textile factories in that country, Ali-Akbar Mehrabian said.
After the meeting in Tehran with the Bolivian Minister of Planning and Presidential Affairs Representative, Viviana Caro and Oscar Coca Antezana respectively, Mehrabian said that constructive talks took place with the Bolivian ministers and they agreed on building 10 dairy factories in that country of which three have already come on stream.
The talks also concerned agreements on building production lines for tractors and textiles in the Latin American country, he explained.
The Iranian minister pointed out that Bolivia has high potential in producing raw material and is a market for consumer goods.
He added that in the meeting they touched on enhancing ties in the fields of geology, exploration and excavation of mines.
He referred to the Bolivian delegation’s inspection of the Geological Survey of Iran and said that the Islamic Republic is willing to train or carry out joint excavations with Bolivia.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Bolivian Presidential Affairs Representative Antezana stated that the purpose of the Bolivian delegation’s three-day visit to Iran was to foment bonds between the two countries.
The Bolivian delegation consists of specialists in village production and rural economy, textiles, dairy and agricultural equipment industry.
The delegation will meet high-ranking Iranian officials, inspect industries and mines and pave the ground for establishing a joint committee between the two states.
