Syrian president arrives in Tehran
TEHRAN, Oct. 2 (MNA) – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived in Tehran today at a top of a high-ranking delegation for talks with senior Iranian officials including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Iran’s ambassador to Syria had previously told the Mehr News Agency that the relations between the two countries will witness new progress in the near future.
According to Khaleej Times, Assad is visiting Tehran to reassure Iranian leaders that the alliance between the two countries is solid despite Syria’s improved relations with the United States.
