Iran, Armenia call for enhanced economic ties

TEHRAN, Oct. 3 (MNA) – The chairman of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines in separate meetings with Armenian officials in Yerevan highlighted the importance of developing economic cooperation and implementing joint projects by the two countries.

The Islamic Republic of Iran News Network reported on Saturday that in a meeting between Mohammad Nahavandian and Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian the two reiterated that economic relations between the two states must be deepened and joint projects must be put into operation.

The two sides underscored the significance of an increase in trade relations and said forging industrial cooperation was important.

The ICCIM chairman met Armenian Chamber of Commerce head Martin Sarkisian as well and voiced Iran’s readiness to carry out industrial and service projects in that country.

Martin Sarkisian responded by saying that establishing an Iranian trade center in Armenia, opening a bank in that country and founding a joint transportation company were issues discussed in the meeting.
