West trying to turn 9/11 into another Holocaust: Ahmadinejad
GORGAN, Iran, Oct. 6 (MNA) – President Ahmadinejad announced on Tuesday that the West is trying to turn the September 11 attacks into another Holocaust so that nobody dares to question the issues surrounding it.
“The West is trying to turn this event into another Holocaust in order to seek its own aims,” Ahmadinejad told a gathering of people in the northern city of Gorgan, Golestan province.
He also said, “We have many documents (that show) that a few days before attacks on twin towers some had been informed not to attend these two towers.”
In his recent address to the UN General Assembly in New York last month, President Ahmadinejad proposed the establishment of a fact-finding committee to probe into the September 11 attacks.
According to the surveys conducted in the U.S., the majority of the Americans believe that the U.S. administration has been involved in 9/11 attacks, Ahmadinejad told the crowd.
Ahmadinejad also pointed to the regional issues and said that the Western powers planned to occupy the Middle East in order to contain Iranian nation’s ever-growing influence in the region.
The Western powers also sought to gain control of the region’s oil reserves, he noted.
“They (the West) attempted to carry out their plans through the Israeli regime but they failed. Then they decided to occupy our region with hundreds of thousands of military troops to counter Iran’s influence in the region and to gain access to the region’s oil in a bid to save their troubled economies,” he commented.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ahmadinejad elaborated on the subsidy reforms and assured that after the implementation of the subsidy reform plan, people will experience better living conditions.
The government has planned to eliminate subsidies on fuel, energy and some goods in stages in a bid to overhaul the economy. The plan is scheduled to be implemented during the current Iranian calendar month.
Ahmadinejad also warned that the administration will firmly deal with those who seek to take advantage of the subsidy reforms to create economic instability in the country.
