Bangladeshi biennale to display works of Iranian sculptor
TEHRAN, Oct. 6 (MNA) -- Sculptures by Parisa Khazabi will go on display at the 14th Asian Art Biennale to be held from October 8 to November 7 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
“Two of my sculptures are made from iron and the other is a combination of iron and fibers which produce some beams under the light,” she told the Persian service of MNA.
Iranian artist Aneh-Mohammad Tatari will also display two installations and one painting at the biennial.
One of his creations is an installation inspired by the Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad (s) and is embellished with Quranic verses. Another installation is a black curtain that is symbolic of the Kaaba, Tatari told the Persian service of MNA previously.
Since 1981, the Bangladesh Asian Art Biennial has had a focal point of contemporary works based on designs blending tradition and modernity. The event exhibits paintings, sculptures, graphics, installations, and mixed media from the Asia Pacific region.
